Wheelchairs in Seattle

I use a walker and will need a power operated wheelchair; I might be able to
hold out for the rest of the year.

Does anyone know of any organizations that might let me take a "supervised
test drive" in my house for about 20 minutes?

My hands are getting weaker and I don't know how well I'll be able to turn
the thing. Even if it has handle bars, I'll still need to get a model that
fits the house.

Any ideas, suggestions...?

Thanks

I tried to Google for a University Department on Adaptive Equipment here in
Illinois that I heard of at a seminar years ago. The director was a
paralyzed woman who used a wheelchair with puff and blow activated controls.
Couldn't find it, but perhaps someone else knows of it. Or perhaps there is
a similar organization in the Seattle area? They are working on all kinds
of designs.

Ask at your local Medical Supply store, too, with the warning that they
don't always know about the newest or most unusual advances.
